Are you in a season of limited heighth due to circumstances: feeling weak, struggles daily, lost confidence, depressed, defeated? Did someone hurt you, are the memories weighing you down, you can't get past it:
Overtime, eagles talons become blunt, calcifications form on their beaks, and feathers become worn. Eagles head for the high places in the mountains, closer to the "Son." for a process of rejuvention. First they cast out all their dull and worn feathers that are limiting their heights and abilities. They then seek out a cool refreshing mountain stream to wash the worldly weight, dirt off. Renewed and clean: the eagle then stands before the "Son."
Many of us retreat into ourselves. For eagles, retreat is not an answer. Rejuvinate & Renew! "Cast out" your problems, worrys, sorrows, fears: cast them on the Lord. Pull out those worn weathered feathers: thoughts, feelings, and memories that weigh you down, limiting your heighth. PULL THEM OUT AND CAST THEM! Whisper: Natural pain, spiritual gains. Then, wash your minds clean with the cool mountain streams of Gods living water. Jn4:10,14Do not submit to circumstances, but submit to the Lord who controls them. YSIC Brown Eagle
Ecc 3:1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.
There are no dead ends, just crossroads of a new season searching for a different direction.
Retirement is the crossroads of ones lifes journey where tracks at last intersect. One set of tracks is complete and now one finds themselves in a new season of direction. Sadly, for a few, they come up to this intersection and have to stop and wait. They had only traveled one set of tracks for years. Continuing on is not easy for them, because they now find themselves needing to set new tracks down first. They find themselves at a loss and for a few, alone at this point of their journey. Ecc 4:8
During ones journey, travel many sets of tracks, "ALL RUNNING PARALLEL". Work "right beside" the tracks of Christ, family, scouts, church, volunteering, recitals, swim meets, to name a few of ones possible dedications and commitments.
The key in finding balance is Ecc 4:12b,"a chord of three strands is not easily broken." ( Lord, could this possibly apply to three sets of tracks?) We are not to isolate ourselves and travel alone. The I think "I can, I think I cans" turn into I know "we" cans. Whisper: One cannot stop season changes, but the Lord has equipped us with Himself and others "beside" us to see us through. For the leaves to change...it takes the "Son" and the rain.

It's been said...."I have done it again, I've messed up, ruined, failed, or destroyed what I worked so hard to do/accomplish/build/change. " Even Paul struggled with this on sin. Rom 7:15-25 Whisper...The answer is within the sentence... that "I" worked so hard to build. What we do or build weather it be relationships, behaviors, spiritually...with our own hands seems to end up many times going in the wrong directions, ending up in huge knots.
Our motives, abilities and strengths are not enough. How can it work when the motives in our heart sets out Spiritually , yet we step out to work it naturally? "I" got it...."I" can do this on my own. Sooner or later the "I" is going to run out of energy. Natural power is unable to run without a source. Same is true Spiritually. God is our power source! Without light there is no life, only darkness. Jn 8:12 We cannot continue to press on, without Christ and being fed. We must remain plugged in. This isn't once a week but daily, recharged through Christ and His word. Changes will occur. ***The I cannots will transform into He can.*** We need to learn to rest in Christs strengths, power, and grace. 2Cor9a But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness." 1Co 2:4,5 15:10 Zec 4:6 Hos 1:7
Whisper...I haven't seen any knot yet that the Lord hasn't been able to undo.

The Humming Birds.…
We have several pairs of Humming birds that visit the gardens out back. (though only one pair at a time in the yard) Humming birds are our routine and in need for structure birds.... No change, things have to stay the same. They are very territorial, having very few social skills. Humming birds are not willing to take the time to be with nor wanting to get along with most of the other birds out back. Let's check the calendar, Sunday, one hour for church. Ok, that'll work, I have nothing else scheduled. But the church dinner on Monday, sorry, can't do it, I get my claws clipped that day every week. This behavior creates a lot of pressure and stress to keep up with this type of living.... Marigolds equal spacing equal rows, where's that tape measure?...scrub four times b4 placing in dishwasher...here sit on the floor, it's more comfortable...I'll order the same as last week, and that's been the same for the past 20 years.... please scrub the carrots until they reach half their size... two hours early, that's ok, that's on time. It can turn into literally a form of placing ones own self into bondage. It can also lead to becoming obsessive, and even at times compulsive. Lets not also forget to mention and think about the loved ones that have to dwell with these type of birds. Their obsessions, pressures, and stress are also placed upon them and sometimes they end up living life in chains also.
Tool for thought: Solomon knew and reflected on this throughout the Book of Ecclesiastes.

And let us not forget about dear Martha in Luke 10:38-42. Could we even be so busy doing things for Jesus, that we're not spending any time with Him? Gal 5:1, 22, 23 Gal. 6:7,8
Lord, my prayer lifted is for balance in our actions and deeds. I pray also that we do not let our service become self serving and self defeating.
